I just extended the title so it states
- the color of the wooden leg
- on which side it is

to better distinguish this shortcut from

This should be made obsolete due to the incorrect design of the minifig leg, 3817.

Instead we should make a new shortcut using 3817b.dat, which have a correct geomery.
LDD (and Brickset) have this assembly as 84637.

ah, I understand.

Is the geometry of the existing part "wooden leg" correct
in this matter? i.e., can I simply use it in the
future 3815bc36 ?

No, the wodden leg, 2532, has to be adjusted. I have already done that. I have it ready.

And I don't think we should create 3815bc36. The correct number for this assembly is 84637.

I have all of these ready too. New shortcuts, with different colour on the pegleg.
