Hooklift Truck with Crane
by Norbert Taxberger

Norbert Taxberger writes about his model:

I was inspired of the technic set 8436 =>Truck with crane, but this set was expandable, therefore I built a four axle truck with double sterring, crane and hooklift system. The most difficult part of this truck was the hook-lift mechanism. At first I tried it with pneumatic components (similar the real trucks), but the stroke of the pneumatic cylinders was to short and haven't enough force (untight). So I started a test with gears, with success. functions of the hook-lift truck: lift up/down of roll-on containers, 2 backwards column for roll off process, two-axle steering, lift up the cabin, open of the driver and passenger door, 2 sideways column for the crane, pneumatic crane from set 8436 Length: 48 cm Width: 17 cm Height with crane: 23 cm Number of parts: 2058 Development and building: approx. 300 hours MLcad time: approx. 120 hours You can see more pictures: www.mocpages.com/moc.php/27257 Because of the missing of the tyre (32019) and wheel (32020) in the part library, I had to use related tyres (32003/32004a).
