January 2008 Scene of the Month

Performance
by Owen Dive

Owen Dive writes about his model:

Comments: After building the Wheel of Death a couple of months ago, I decided that it needed somewhere to be displayed to the public. The backdrop is a mosaic of a ship, because the real-life chaps perform in front of a giant screen playing scenes of a ship at sea. One of the most challenging aspects of the scene was populating the seats with minifigs. I actually wrote a Microsoft Excel macro to read in the .mpd file, and insert a randomly generated minifig at each seat (well, almost each seat - it is not terribly apparent from this angle, but the seats towards the back are slightly less densely populated than those at the front!). The snack vendor in the aisle was added almost as an afterthought, but rounds off the scene nicely, I think.

Recipient 2007
