Question

Answer

What is the difference between MLCad and LDraw?

MLCad is a Windows interface which uses the LDraw Parts Library and File Format. It allows you to create LDraw models in a graphical environment. MLCad also extends the LDraw file format with several useful commands such as Rotation Steps, Buffer Exchanges, and Ghosting, and provides many advanced editing techniques not available in the original LDraw editor, LEdit.

Where can I get MLCad?

You can download it free from the homepage.
MLCad is available in several languages including German and Dutch.

MLCad gives the error "Invalid Path (no Parts and/or Pdir Found)"

When you launch MLCAD for the first time you may get an error pop-up window as shown

To fix this, use the browse button to redirect MLCAD to the directory where you installed the LDraw base package (i.e. the directory with the PARTS and P folders). In this example it is C:\LDraw.
